MUSICAL TIPS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TIP #1---Building a new guitar, or customizing the old one? To get the full tone from your pickups, consider removing (or just bypassing) the volume and tone controls from your guitar. Volume and tone potentiometers are built with a level of resistance, which actually rob you of sound when your signal passes through them. So just hot-wire your pickup leads directly to the input jack. Rock on.
In doing this, you may still need control over your stage volume level, so try using a good quality volume pedal, and run it through the effects loop of your amplifier. Running through the effects loop will not affect the gain of your preamp section, again maintaining a more pure sound.
TIP #2--Having trouble getting your capo to work without stretching your strings out of tune? Try snugging the capo up on top of the fret, instead of behind it. This may take a moment to adjust correctly, but you'll like the result much better, especially if you're using the capo at the first or second fret, where the capo has a tendency to pull the strings more sharp than on later frets.
