MUSICAL TIPS
TIP #1---Does your electric guitar's tremolo arm have the "jitters"? Doesn't stay where you put it, and flops around? There are two solutions. One is to remove it, and throw it away. But probably a better alternative is to use a tiny, stiff spring that Fender includes on all American strats. Your local Fender dealer can get these for you (get a couple, they bolt for the door when you're not looking). If you can't find them locally, email or phone us.
Note: This works with any vintage-style tremolo, but not with Floyd Rose or Kahler, etc.
TIP #2---Remember how bright, shiny and smooth your frets used to be? They can be again, by following these simple instructions. Next time you change your strings, have the following items on hand.
1) Masking tape
2) Steel wool, fine grade"0000"
3) Of course, strings.....
Once your strings are removed, carefully place strips of masking tape on either side of the first fret on your guitar. Rub the "0000" steel wool across the fret 5-6 times, and it will remove all the tarnish and crud, leaving behind a shiny and smooth fret. It doesn't take much pressure. Remember, you're only polishing, you're not trying to file or change the profile of the frets.
You can use the same pieces of masking tape as you move up the neck, taking care each time to cover the fingerboard, so you're only "wooling" the fretwire, and not rub the steel wool on the fingerboard. When you're done, your guitar will look better, feel better, and play better!
Important!...On an electric guitar, be sure to totally cover and seal off the pickup area, as the magnetic pull will attract all those microscopic shreds of steel wool., giving your pickups the "fuzzies". As easy way to cover the pickups is to lay a piece of newspaper over the body of the guitar, and use masking tape to seal it shut where the neck and body join, and a bit to the left and right as well.
