TIP # 1---If the white tape on the edge of your new Danelectro guitar has lifted up, here's a quick and easy remedy. Warm the tape with a hair dryer for about 30-45 seconds, holding the hair dryer about 8-10 inches away. Then press the tape back down with a soft cloth, and rub the tape gently until it's cool. It'll probably not lift back up again. ***Thanks to Gary Izzo for supplying this idea! TIP # 2---When recording an acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, etc, try using two or three microphones from different angles and distances from the instrument. Experiment by aiming microphones at the body, neck, perhaps even from behind. If you have a built-in pickup, use it also. Record your tracks, and then bounce all tracks together on one, or create a stereo split with one tonality on one side, and a different sound on the other. Results? Big, fat sound, with more character and dynamics than you'll get with just one microphone.
